School Services
Seedling Heart Child Development Centre is dedicated to supporting children and adolescents with special educational needs (SEN) through clinical psychology, speech therapy, and occupational therapy services.
We provide comprehensive professional assessments and therapeutic interventions to address behavioral, emotional, social, and learning challenges in their developmental journey.
We also collaborate with schools and educational institutions to deliver school-based services. Depending on each school’s needs, we offer tailored support for students with SEN, including clinical psychological counseling, occupational therapy, and mindfulness groups.
Our team offers seminars, training, and workshops for teachers, parents, and caring professionals on topics such as mindful parenting, parent management skills, and the Circle of Security® parenting program.
Over the past nineteen years, Ms. Venus Yiu, founder of the Centre, has served as a clinical psychologist at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, and United Christian Hospital, providing psychological services to children, adolescents, university students, and adults. She has also delivered diagnostic assessments, consultations, and staff training for Po Leung Kuk Residential Child Care Service and Hong Kong Children & Youth Services, supporting the mental health and development of children and young people in residential care.
From 2018 to 2023, Venus was invited by the I-Well Centre of The Education University of Hong Kong to serve as a guest lecturer for the Education Bureau’s Mental Health Courses. These courses were designed to equip in-service primary and secondary school teachers with foundational knowledge and practical skills in fostering student mental health. The training covered the identification of conditions such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as recommended intervention approaches. Teachers were also guided to recognize warning signs of suicidal behavior and to develop essential gatekeeping skills for timely intervention.
